I have two problems with my Outlook E-Mail.
First, I created a web site - http://mindofmichael.com. The host is Bravenet.
I received an email account with my site. It’s (e-mail address removed).
Bravenet said to use “pop3.mindofmichael.com†as the incoming server but use
the same smpt that my IP has provided.
I understood Bravenet to have directed me to fill out the set up information
as follows:
User Information
Your Name: Michael
E-Mail Address: (e-mail address removed) (my home address)
Server Information
Incoming Mail Server (POP3): pop3.mindofmichael.com
Outgoing Mail Server (SMPT): mail.comcast.net
Logon Information
User Name: (e-mail address removed)
Password: my password, of course
I recently created my own newsletter for my site. On the bottom, I added
the code “To stop receiving these messages, click <a
href="mailto:[email protected]"subject=unsubscribe">unsubscribe</a>.
As soon as I did that, all hell broke loose. I started to receive the
following error messages:
“Task 'Michael - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0D) : 'Unable to find the
e-mail server. Please verify the server information in your account
properties.'â€
There’s another similar message that I receive that has to do with not being
able to find the outgoing server for (e-mail address removed). It isn’t
there now.
The second problem began at the same time. I started to get the following
message when trying to send to (e-mail address removed) from
(e-mail address removed):
“A message (from <[email protected]>) was received at 26 Oct 2005
21:16:16 +0000.
The following addresses had delivery problems:
“<[email protected]>
Permanent Failure:
550_Mailbox_unavailable_or_access_denied_-_<[email protected]>
Delivery last attempted at Wed, 26 Oct 2005 21:16:16 -0000â€
I don’t know if this is related to the newsletter problem or not.
I can still send from my home address, (e-mail address removed). I sent to
three different remote addresses, including my own hotmail and yahoo
addresses and it worked fine.
I also mailed to my home address from remote addresses and I received the
incoming mail.
In the most recent instance, I actually received the test message I mailed
to myself even though I received the message:
“A message (from <[email protected]>) was received at 26 Oct 2005
21:16:16 +0000.

<[email protected]>
Permanent Failure:
550_Mailbox_unavailable_or_access_denied_-_<[email protected]>

Previously, after the problem started, I hadn’t received the messages which
I had sent to myself.
I know that this seems confusing, at least to me. I’ve tried to be as
specific as possible in this message about what has happened.
The biggest mistake I may have made in the creation of this problem is that
I changed some IE settings and Outlook settings and didn’t document the
changes. However, I thought that I understood what I was changing.
Apparently, I may not have.
Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to shed some light on my
conundrum.
By the way, I haven’t gone to Comcast for help because Comcast doesn’t
support Outlook. It supports Outlook Express.
