Outlook setup

L

Lori A. Kuiper

Running XP Professional with Office XP installed. I am using a dialup
connection for internet access, also have onboard Lan but I do not have any
other computer hooked up to this one yet.

I have several users set up, an administrator account for me, a limited user
account for me, and 2 other limited user accounts.

When office was set up, it recognized my dial up as main connection to
internet in the admin account. When I went to set up the other limited
users, it selected the LAN connection as default internet connection instead
of dial up. I did have fast user switching enabled when I installed office,
so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

My question is, why did the limited users default to LAN connection to
internet and only the admin account defaulted to the dial up? Is there a
reason that Office XP sets up the limited users this way? Should I change
internet access in Outlook to the dial up in the limited users screens or
leave as set to LAN?

Also, I set my MSN home screen to narrowband version and in the Limited User
accounts it switched the screen to broadband?

I have Media Player 9 installed and left it set to automatically detect my
connection speed--should I switch this to always use dial up connection? I
am wondering if this had something to do with this as well.

If any one knows the answer, I would be eternally grateful. Each time I
have reinstalled Windows, XP has setup Outlook this way.

Last question: I noticed that in the Limited Users accounts, Outlook did
not pick up the User as a contact under Contacts. Should I type in Name etc
manually in each Limited Users screen? My name does appear as a Contact in
the Administrator Account. I am just not sure on what the proper setup is?
