Outlook should have the option to display attached images in the Reading Pane
(Just like Outlook Express and may other email clients can).
Outlook 2003 currently has "automatic download settings" that let you select
if/when it should download pictures in HTML e-mails.
It should also have "attached images settings" to let you select if/when to
display image files that arrive as attachments to plain text e-mails.
There is simply no satisfactory reason IMO why we have to open a separate
application to view simple .gif or .jpg attachments. Especially as we don’t
even have to open a separate application to view pictures in HTML e-mail
which is inherently more of a risk.
Picture file attachments to plain text emails are a daily reality for me.
The inconvenience is just to great so I'm off to use a different email
client.......
