Outlook should have a click off Message Alert option

I am constantly away from my desk, and with the new outlook New Mail Alert
icon, the maximum an alert will show for is 30 seconds. This means every time
I leave my desk, I have to open my mail to see if I have received something.
There should be an option to turn it on until you click it off, like the
older version worked.

Someone wrote previously that they needed an option to turn it off. I guess
they aren't paying much attention, because if you unclick the turn on icon
box, it won't pop up.

Additionally you can create a rule that shows all newly received mail in the
New Item Alert window.
