Outlook should let you sort email by read and unread

G

Greco

At the end of the day after receiving 250 emails I want to sort by unread so
that I can make sure I didn't miss anything.

ALSO - When I sort by sender I want to be able to collapse each sender in
the fashion of the triangle to the left of the name - clicking it closes all
of the emails from "Joe" into one line and indicates that there are more
emails from Joe if I click the arrow and maximize the list. This would be
very helpful when scrolling through 5000 emails looking for 1 from a certain
user. And no - I don't want to use the search feature.

I don't blame you. I never use the search feature either.

I think for the unread/read, you could use a View to show only unread.

For the second, when I sort the inbox on Outlook 2003, I can collapse
content for each sender. It is a little + sign and not a triangle, but I
think it is doing what you want. I can also right-click and collapse all
the content by sender - leaving me with one line showing the sender and
total and unread items from them.
Does that not work well for you?

The function you are describing is Grouping not sorting. It's there. You
can use it to group by sender and collapse or expand the groups.

I think for the unread/read, you could use a View to show only unread.Or better yet, use the built-in Unread Messages search folder.
