I know how Exchange already generates mailbox size messages, but
unfortunately that is a server setting that is not always under control of
the local servicedesk.
Scenario: laptop/ost-file user writes couple of emails, hits send, emails
stay in outbox. Check the usual (connected to exchange server, etc.). Outlook
stays in 'sending messages', not showing any useful errors.
Check status of account in domain, not locked out. Check webmail, user able
to sent a test email (of course the test email was small and the pending
email in outbox of Outlook was largish at 5 MB)
I recall that in office 2000 with users not using an offline file Outlook
would throw a proper warning at the user. If that functionality could be
available for offline folder users as well it would avoid a number of service
calls, and 'help users help themselves'.
