Outlook shouldn't insert extra "comment" spaces when option off

R

RayDiBug

When forwarding email, Outlook gives you the option of inserting your name or
other text wherever you are inserting a comment into the original text.

When you turn this feature off, Outlook continues to insert a space before
and after where you insert a comment new comment. This forces user to delete
the extra spaces at each and every insertion point.

Example: I forward the same email to different people customizing a couple
of words. Each word changed (or inserted) is plagued by extra spaces.

The symptoms sound like you left the insert comment feature turned on but without anything set for the comment characters.

You are right that this is the way it should work, however, the Insert
Comment feature is not checked (but apparently Outlook thinks it is).

Since there is no known problem with this feature that would produce the symptoms you describe. I would try checking it, applying the change, then unchecking it again and applying the change.
