If you open Outlook, it will sync your inbox and new messages will arrive.
You can start viewing these messages before Outlook has finished applying its
filters and rules.
If you're viewing a message, and Outlook processes a rule that causes a
message flag to be applied to that message, it won't let you clear the
message flag (you can still access the menu like normal, it just doesn't take
effect, at least visually). If you select another message, then select the
first message, you can now clear the flag on the first message.
