Outlook Signature Turns White Intermittently

I have a user whose signature turns white on certian emails. When I switch
the email editor from Word to Outlook the signature comes out correct. The
problem only appears when Word is the email editor and the email is in HTML.
User has Office 2003 on Windows XP
