I was given a task by my System Admin to create a mandatory profile for all of our users on our Win2k/Win '03 domain, running mainly XP Pro boxes.
Everyone in the company uses Exchange and Outlook 2003.
I have created a desktop for all users and a start menu and this all works great.
The problem lies when I look to have a central Application Data, shared amongst the standard users, that they each only have read permissions for. The concept is to make the profiles as small as possible, without creating a large amount of annoying 'junk' temporary user files.
With all programs I have encountered this has not been a problem, other than Outlook.
I have generated a script that performs a lookup of the %username% and loads the exchange mailbox on the boot of Outlook but the Signature file is never set.
I have tried various registry entries that claim that they will set the Signature but they don't seem to work with this version of outlook.
I have a suspiscion thqat this fuinctionallity has been added to Exchange 2003, and has therefore been removed from Outlook 2003, but this is a complete guess.
I am sure that there must be other networks out there running the setup i have described, but my scripting knowledge is obviously not up to scratch.
Please help me, i have spent three days on this one issue and i am beginning to lose the will to live!!
