Outlook SLow in Vista

Hi, I have a new laptop running Vista Business and i notice that Outlook
seems slow. In fact I am sometimes typing faster than the letters are
appearing on the screen.. Is this normal or do I need to do something?

What version of Outlook? Are other apps slow as well? How much RAM do you
have in the machine? Was it always slow or did it used to be fine? Is it
always slow or does it sometimes run normally?

Hi Ben, and thanks for your post.

Laptop is brand new First Installation of Vista Business, i have never
used this before and its a first install of Office 2007.
Laptop has 2Gb Ram, all other apps inclusing other Office apps are all
running great.

How long have you had Outlook installed? When you first install Windows
Desktop Search needs to index the Outlook data file and that can slow the
system down for a day or so while it gets it done.
