Outlook SMS Add-in (MOSA) - invalid phone number format

I've installed the app. I've verified that my phone (LG VX6000) is set up as a modem; queried the modem using the diagnostics tab and it responded. When I try to send a message, I choose the contact from my Contacts folder. Those all work. But when I click to send the message, I get an error dialog box stating "The phone number format passed-in is invalid". Has anyone else had this problem?
