OUTLOOK SPYING????? :x

:x Dear All,
I have outlook 2007 installed, outlook connector, Netlimiter, and i have a permanent internet line where i leave my laptop on over nights.
after installing Outlook connector, i noticed that outlook is always sending a lot of information through the net, even if i have a simple message in the outbox.

last night i tried to send a 800kb simple attachment but outlook kept sending and sending and the message did not go

today morning i was surprised that the message was sent but along with 200MB of information, what the hell are these 200MB of information that have to be sent over the net with one simple message, i know exactly how much information sent and received by any single program from Netlimiter

I truly start to believe that outlook starts to spy on our pc's using outlook connector, and we have to grant outlook access to the net by our firewalls.

MICROSOFT..... PLEASE CLARIFY THIS ISSUE.

Take off the tin foil hat. :) Microsoft is not spying on you. Most of the
200mg is because outlook kept trying and trying to send the 800 kb file. The
balance was just normal mail/calendar/contact updating. Did you get any
error reports on why it couldn't send the message? If you are scanning mail
with a virus scanner, disable it. That will often cause problems sending
attachments.

If you have the customer experience improvement program enabled in Help,
that will send usage data but it comes from doc watson, not outlook
specifically. While a paranoid person would consider this 'spying', its
just collecting usage data (like which commands you use the most) so they
can improve the product (and help justify removing little used features,
like the week calendar in outlook 2003 and older). It's all anonymous - they
don't care what *you* specifically are doing. (Data such as this contributed
to the ribbon design and other such 'improvements'. ) Less anonymous is the
dictionary suggestions you can submit - that may contain enough names and
address corrections to identify your family. (I don't usually submit this,
for this reason.)

I truly start to believe that outlook starts to spy on our pc's using
outlook connector, and we have to grant outlook access to the net by
our firewalls.

If you truly believe that, why are you even connected to the Internet?
Everybody you use (your ISP, any third party DNS, if you are using one,
every web site you visit in any browser; ***EVERBODY***) is "spying on you".

Or take a rational approach and just treat this as a problem (common, or
otherwise) which needs a solution. And try to apply the suggestions as you
work toward the solution of the problem.
