outlook.srs files

Hello,
When I open
C:\Docs and Settings\%name%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
I find many instances of "Outlook~#.srs" files, where the # ranges from 1 to
7.
When I delete them and reopen Outlook the number gets higher and higher.
How do I get back to the original file "Outlook~.srs"?
Thanks,
AJS

they are send and receive files. Do you have multiple profiles in outlook?
If not, delete all but the one with the newest last modified date... or
delete all if you don't have custom send and receive settings configured.

Are you deleting the *.SRS while Outlook is closed? (if necessary, check the
task manager's process list to make sure nothing is holding Outlook open.)

Thanks,
Yes, I do have multiple profiles.
I did delete them all (*.srs files), when I reopened OL, a new instance of
*#.srs appears with a higher number. Where does OL keeps track of the number
of times I modified these files?

it should start back at 0 (no number) but it really doesn't matter... the #
has no effect on the file or your profile.
