Outlook starts even though it is not default program

I use Netscape mail. It has always been the default on my pc and still is
right now. All of a sudden Outlook comes up any time I click on an email
address in my browser (any browser). When it comes up it tells me it is not
my default email program. When I look at the Internet settings in Control
Panel, Netscape is the default. Same thing when I checked the Netscape
settings.

I installed MS Office Professional 2007 a few months ago. Perhaps that did
it?

What's going on?

Set Netscape to always check if its default and uninstall outlook if you are
not going to use it, otherwise, it will be set as default each time you
install office updates.

Outlook is not the default. That's what confuses me. Even thogh it comes
up automatically it tells me it's not the default when it does.

How can I uninstall Outlook? In my list of programs in Control Panel it
only lists MS Office Professional. I select "change" and then the "add or
change features" On the next screen it shows me what's available. There is
no place that says "remove" When I click on Outlook and "continue" all it
does is reinstall it. I don't see any way to remove it.

There is a box on the available apps screen you change to remove outlook
(might need to click custom button first) - set it to not installed - and
then finish. That will remove it.

Do you mean on the control panel screen of apps? On the left of the list is
says "change or remove programs", "add new programs", add/remove windows
components" and "set program access defaults". When I click on MS Office
Professioanl 2007 two buttons appear, "change" and "remove". If I click
"remove" it will uninstall all apps for Office. If I click "change" it only
lets me reinstall a component, not remove it.

I don't see a "customize" or "not intalled" option anywhere.

Please be a little more specific.

I appreciate the help.

it's an option after choosing change.... then click add or remove features.
click on the grey or white box in the customization list and select Not
available from the menu.
