outlook starts Windows Messenger (!!*$#@**$!!!!)

I installed XP + service pack 2 (from scratch). Every time I open Outlook
Express, the f***ing program also starts Windows Messenger. I already
disabled 'Automatically log on to Windows Messenger' in
Outlook->Tools->Options->General.
I also disabled 'Run Messenger when Windows starts' in the preference
settings from Windows Messenger. No use.

Is this a new way of pushing programs trough peoples troats or what??
