Outlook Startup Problem

Catsspoor

I am currently using Windows XP home edition and Office 2003 Professional for
Students. When I attempt to start my Outlook program to send and receive
Emails, the start up process gets to a point where the opening information is
partly displayed then the program freezes. Opening in safe mode gets ma a
bit further, then the program freezes and in each case I am told that the
program is not responding. Attempts to close the program can sometimed
result in other programs also freezing and I have to turn off the machine in
order to close my programs?

Can anyone advise how I can get the Outlook program to run properly?

I use XP Pro and have the same problem. The update available at the office
site stopped the crashing. However, the program runs really slow as if it is
using too much memory. My computer is really clean and fast so I doubt they
can blame it on me. Please let me know how to speed it up if you find out.
