outlook stays in task bar after you close application

I have found in the last few days that when i close outlook application.
The outlook today icon stays in the task bar and you cant close it from here
Has never been like this before
This i dont this is closing the program properly as you still see emails
coming in when it is closed
I know we had a power cut her ealrier in week and wonder if it has upset
something.
I did a repair but nothing has cahnged

Common issue with quite a few addins. Which ones do you have installed?
Also, which version of Outlook are we talking about here?
