Outlook Steals Focus

I am having a weird problem with Outlook. At some times, it will steal the
focus of other maximized screens for a few seconds, then returns. I can watch
the maximised screen loose focus for about two seconds, then retun for about
10 seconds.

I have had the task manager up looking for something that runs with the same
frequency, but no luck.

I have systematically closed programs until it stops, and have isolated it
to Outlook. I have repaeted this several times, and only closing Outlook
solves the problem. I originally suspected the anti-virus program, but I can
close it and the flashing continues.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

I have exactly the same issue.
I found that it happens when another program interacts with Outlook, like
ActiveSync or Nelson Email Organizer. These programs use Outlook API and
whenever these are active the problem manifests. When I close ActiveSync it
stops. I will keep you posted on my findings.

Thank you for your response.

I am curious however, it seems that this problem just came up recently. I
have been using Outlook 2003 with my PPC and active sync for several years.

I keep my computer regularly updated. Is there a way to trace this back to
an update?
