Outlook Stops Responding on Shutdown

O/S WinXP, Outlook 2002. On shutdown or restart of
computer, I have to go through at least one, sometimes two
or three cycles of Outlook not responding before the
program will actually close and the computer shutdown.

This happens ONLY with Outlook. Anybody experience the
same? I have installed all patches and service packs to my
knowledge.
