Outlook stops working

Hi
I have two mail Profiles set up in Outlook 2007, for two different emails I
use (for two different companies, with different signatures etc) Often when
wanting to switch from one to the other, I can't just exit and re-open so it
asks which profile to open. Most of the time I've had to start the Task
Manager and close outlook in processes before being able to log into the 2nd
profile. Often then is wouldn't work properly, like not automatically sending
& receiving, or or displaying the emails in the viewing pane (Have to double
click on them to open in a separate window) Also often wouldn't send new
emails, just getting stuck on "preparing to send/receive"
Now in the last couple of days, it's started doing all the above, even if
I've shut down & re-started the computer ie, Outlook is not working properly
at all.
What can I do about it?
