Have been using Outlook as part of Office 20002 on XP machine for past
nine months with no problems. Now I can't send or receive from email
server. IP addresses and other mail serve config has been checked
repeatedly and is correct. I can ping the server. Get error messages
from Outlook that the server was found be there was no response from
the server.
I suspect that this occurred due to install of SAproxy spam filer with
Bloomba mail reading. When I ran into email problems I uninstalled
the software. I have worked extensively with this software support
and they swear that there is nothing from this install (and ensuing
uninstall) causing the problem. I think it is some weird port problem
but don't know how to troubleshoot. All could be coincidental as
claimed.
I have tried many things short of a complete XP reinstall, which seems
drastic to me.
