outlook symbols and deleted messages

I have 2 questions regarding outlook express. The version of Outlook is 2003
I think. First, I have a question about the "reply" symbols or arrows. I
know that when I reply there is an arrow pointing to the left on the original
e-mail. And when I forward an e-mail there is an arrow that points to the
right. Sometimes the reply arrows are blue and sometimes they are purple.
Can you tell me what that means or why the arrows are different colors? My
second question is about "deleted" e-mails. After they have been deleted,
they go into the "deleted items" folder. If they have been deleted from
there, is there anywhere I can go to or search on the computer to see these
deleted e-mails? Thank you so much for your time.

For the first question: A left purple arrow means you replied; a right blue
arrow means you forwarded. The most recent action on the message determines
which kind of arrow you see.

For the second question: Unless you are on Exchange server and the
administrator has the Recover Deleted Items option turned on, or you keep a
copy of your e-mails on the server even after you download them to Outlook
and/or delete them from Outlook, you are out of luck once the Deleted Items
folder is emptied. Don't use the deleted items folder for anything you may
need later...it should be just a safety net in case you accidentally hit
delete on an item and you go get it back right away.

BTW, if you are using Outlook 2003, you are not using Outlook Express. They
are two totally separate programs.
