Outlook syncronizing folders?

My Outlook is acting just like it's Windows 98. I have to sit and wait for
sometimes a minute or more for a simple command in Outlook to complete. It
often grays out and asks if I want to close Outlook or wait for it to
respond.

The only thing I've found is an icon that says MICROSOFT OFFICE OUTLOOK IS
SYNCRONIZING FOLDERS. Is that the problem?

There is only the one mail PERSONAL FOLDERS shown in the folders window.
There is, however, a folder called SEARCH FOLDERS that contains 3 subfolders.

As a side note, my Internet Explorer and Firefox work fine... no change in
speed.

I am ready to delete Outlook and go to the Open Sourcee software or
something else that will WORK. Please help!

Difficult to help without knowing version of Outlook & Win Version. And
whether its a new problem, or its just been installed. Whether you have an
anti virus app that has intergrated to OL may also be relevent

Well, the good news is that I already solved the problem. In the HELP
section, I was not sent first to search your archives. I posted this and
when I finished, I was forwarded to your archives. I searched for several
things. Finally found the answer to the problem.

My system is a DELL laptop... the new 12"XPS M1210. It is running 2007
Office and Windows Vista Premium. [I hate it!]

I found the post that said to look for and delete OutlookAddin from my
computer. I went to the Programs folder in the control panel. rather than
the program, I found Outlook Addin SETUP. I removed that and my Outlook is
now back close to normal.

I believe it also said to disable any connection between my AntiVirus
software and Outlook, which I didn't understand. Why have it without having
it linked to my OUtlook? Didn't do that, but it seems to have corrected
itself by just removing the Addin.

It infuriates me that Dell puts things on my computer that cause such
problems. I had a problem with their support that kept me from going back to
them about this one. Dell loves to ask you to let them "take control of your
computer" so they can fix problems. They did that and deleted my PROFILE.
Along with it went all of my CONTACTS AND EMAILS!!!!! Then they emptied the
trash and did a few more things. Gone.

So, I really have to censor my thoughts here about DELL. Thanks for the
info about the AddIn. I obviously need to hang out here more often.

Deleting your Mail Profile doesnt remove/delete your Personal Folders, pst
file, which contain all your data.
By default the first set of Personal Folders created is named outlook.pst, a
second new set would be named outlook1.pst
Check the actual file name of the current pst in use, then within OL,
File>Open>Data File and open the origonal pst, copy data to the current one,
if required.

file.. nothing. Don't worry, I know how to find them.
