outlook system tray icon new mail rule mark read

I have rules to mark some message as read when they arrived and when I only
receive one or more message that are marked as read, the system tray icon
that say that I get new mail appear even if I don't have new unread email.
So I think that it would be a good idea to make this icon appear only if
there is new unread email. Or at least add an option in the settings of
outlook to enable this feature.

In Outlook 2003 SP1, the icon won't show if a rule moves a message to
another folder, so Microsoft knew you were going to ask and added the
feature already.

I installed sp1 yesterday. Now I have outlook 2003 sp1 and I still get the
notification even if there is rules that move messages to another folder and
mark them as read. So I don't know if I had to enable the feature somewhere
or if microsoft forgot to include it like you said.
