Outlook takes 7 minutes to use

It takes 7 minutes for Outlook to come up and be ready to use. All other
programs and access to the internet are functioning normally. We can't figure
out the problem or what caused it and are looking for solutions to resolve
the issue. Once it is up email is processed normally both sending and
receiving.

Version is 2003. I am not aware of "addins", whatever they are. Virus scanner
on computer, ESET NOD32. Two accounts. Type, normal I suppose.

Version of Outlook?
What addins do you have installed?
Are you scanning email with a virus scanner?
Type of email account? How many accounts?

A correct answer to the "what type?" question would contain one or more of
"Exchange", "IMAP", "POP", or "MSN/Hotmail/Live".
