Outlook takes too long to open up email and sometimes freezes up

I have deleted half my messages so usage is only at 50 percent, yet Outlook
still takes extremely long to open up an email, and then when I scroll it
sometimes freezes up my whole computer. I have upgraded all the latest, but
it still does the same thing. Any one found a solution?
