OutLook task Imports regardless Accept or Reject; Is this right?

V

VIDRO

Outlook versions 2007 and 2003.
Project server 2007

The approval or rejection of a Task do not seem to affect it in the Outlook
Task view. Is this a design flaw, a bug, or am I missing how the Task process
should function?

Example of what has occurred.
If a user adds a task to a Project in the “My Task†WEB screen of the
Project server and the users Outlook Project Add-in does an Import, the task
gets imported in to the users task. If the Project manager rejects the task
the task still Imports or if Imported prior to the rejection still shows up
and can be manipulated in Outlook Task.

I would think that NO task could be Imported in to Outlook until it was
approved. Even if it could I would think that something would indicate that
it was Approved or rejected.

Am I missing something or does it sound like it’s working correctly and I
just have to work with it?

Mike What's wrong with posting in this forum? My question is general enough
and it's not about development or installation. The site you sent me to
seems a little convoluted.
What is this forum for if not for posting question regarding Project server
interoperability?

Hello Vidro,

There is nothing *wrong* with posting in this forum. Most of the
MVPS and regular responders do read all newsgroups. However, the
server newsgroup is usually the first stop for the server gurus and
therefore you are more likely to get an answer quicker in that
newsgroup.

The Project Server newsgroup is the correct forum for questions
related not only to server installations but to use of Project in
conjunction with Project Server and PWA, or as you put it -- project
server interoperability. This newsgroup is more focused on using
Microsoft Project in a stand alone environment -- without Project
Server.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
