Probably, depending on whether you can supply some basic information to give
us a clue like what version of Outlook you are using and what you mean by a
template for rules.

The software versions are Exchange 2000, Outlook for Office 2000.

I want to use the autoreply to send a preset message back to the sender. I want to reply to any emails sent to an info @ address.
I have tried to set up a rule in outlook and it directs me to a directory under templates in office and requires a template. I need to know how to create a tempalte with my auotreply in.

Hope that is a little clearer.

Ah, more information - thanks! Is this a standard reply to all mails sent
to Info@?

If yes, then create a template (you can't use Word as the editor for this
purpose.) Open a new mail message, compose your standard reply, then save
the item as an OUtlook template. Give it a unique name and keep the
default directory it selects for saving.

Then, create your rule using "with specific words in the recipient's
address" and specify "Info@" for the words. Then use the Reply with
template. When you are asked for the template, use the dropdown and select
"user templates in file system" and select the template you just made.

Hope this helps.

You have hit the nail on the head, the crux of the problem is saving as a template. When i try to save the relpy it does not offer Outlook templates as an option.

You are also correct word cannot save it as an outlook template.

Is it an option to be installed duing install of office?

Regards Shaun

Do you get the option to save as .oft? This is the Outlook template form.

You can try detect and repair and elect to reinstall all of Office - but
first, I would put in my Office CD, use Add/Remove programs from control
panel, then navigate to the Office Tools section. Install all to your hard
drive. See if that helps.
