Outlook - The information store cannot be openned.

I cannot open the contacts folders or calendar in Outlook
2000. A message comes up when openning Outlook which
indicates "some folders may not be accessible. The
information store cannot be openned" then askeds if I
would like to use default folders which do not contain
contact lists. My company headquarters recently closed
and I fear they have tampered with my home PC Outlook
program through our VPN even though the PC is owned by me
and Outlook is licensed to me. Is there any way to reopen
it? I currently have no contact or calendar options in the
tool bar.

Try running the Inbox Repair Tool against your .PST file to see if it finds
any errors. Search your drive for a file called scanpst.exe and run it.
