Outlook to accept my Windows Live mail?

B

BAL007

I initially used Windows Live Mail as my main e-mail engine. But for business
reason, I had to install Outlook 2007. Now I am trying to consolidate all my
e-mail addresses under one e-mail engine (Outlook) and not using Live Mail
anymore.
To do so, I have created a second account in Outlook, specifying HTTP as my
server type and I have use the same server address that I had in my Live Mail
setup, as well as the same username/password.
In the Send/Receive process, it send and receive my Outlook mail normally,
however, it sends but not receives my Live mail, there's an error:
Task "(e-mail address removed): Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers." reported
error (0x800CCC33) : "Access to the account was denied. Verify that your
username and password are correct. The server responded 'Forbidden'. "
Any thoughts?

I think you need the Outlook Connector for Live mail.....

If you want IMAP-like access to your Windows Live Hotmail account, you
will need the [flaky] Outlook Connector add-on. Outlook does not have
support for the HTTP/Deltasync protocol (that Microsoft moved to and
dropped HTTP/WebDAV that Outlook does support). Things change. OL2007
was released before the change. So now you need to use the add-on.

If you only need POP access to your Windows Live Hotmail account, see:

http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!49799.entry

Notice this mentions using the .com top-level domain for POP/SMTP
access. I don't know if this works for your live.ca domain. According
to http://preview.tinyurl.com/c3wk5e, Canadians got POP/SMTP access
before US (.com) users. So delete the HTTP account that you created and
instead create a POP/SMTP account.
