Outlook to outlook multiple address files

K

Kip Wheeler

I transfered psa file from one OL to second OL. It contained multiple
address files.
Only the main address file appears in the second OL address book. The
multiple files are there in the Mycontacts and Folder list.

This is my second submission. I submitted this question on 9/14, but did'nt
ask to be notified of results and can't find submission or response.

If you have Contacts in the Contacts folder but they are not accessible when
you click on the To button, check these settings:

Make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book. Right
click the Contacts folder, choose Properties then Outlook Address Book. Is
the box to enable as email address book is checked?

PS did you search in Google groups to see if it was answered?

Did as you suggested - made no difference. I see contacts in Contacts file
but not in additional address files (sub folders ... contacts/file1, etc). I
also have a personal folder which in folder list which does not exist and I
can't get rid of - how do I uninstall Outlook and reinstall OL. It is part
of Office SBE 2003. Tried reinstall SBE, but this did not fix problem with
missing personal file or address files. Do I have to uninstall entire SBE?

Your link found me an earlier reply which gave me the same advice - Thanks

I'd try a new profile - ghost folders usually indicate corrupted profile.

I tried replacing outlook.pst with new correct outlook.pst from first pc.
This didn't eleminate ghost file or give me address files. I have Contact
file which contains addresses - is this any problem -then I have several sub
address files defined - works ok on first pc where they were created.

When replacement didn't work I put back orignal pst file and added new file
as outlook2.pst. Now I have two profiles and a ghost. If I attempt to close
one of valid profies I get an error "an object is missing".

follow the steps in these two articles to make a new profile and use the old
pst.

http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/new_profile.htm

http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/connect_pst.htm

you can try to remove the ghost, but if it fails, you'll need a new profile
anyway:

I think I followed steps - ended up with 4 personal folders. 3 point to same
pst file and can't be closed (not selectable). other only contains deleted
items and search folder and can't be closed because of missing object.
