I was running Office 2000 under Windows XP Pro and had
the problem of not being able to modify the Outook Today
screen look. I removed Office 2000 and installed a full
version of Office 2003 Professional including Outlook
2003. Now I can modify the Outlook Today screen to
select the "Summer" look, but after I save it and then
reload it, it reverts to the Standard Outlook Today
screen. When I then click on Customize Outlook Today, it
is already set to "Summer". When I click on "Save
Settings", it reverts back to the Outlook Today screen
that I want - "Summer." Another odd thing is that the
little gold striped checkmark that is supposed to be in
the upper left hand corner of the Outlook Today screen is
not there. Instead, there is a small white square with a
red 'x' in it. For some reason, Outlook cannot find the
graphics file or load it.
I have tried removing and re-installing Office 2003. I
have also tried the "Detect and Repair." Then I went on
the web and installed the Office 2003 updates. The
problem still persists.
Has anyone else had this problem with OL 2003 or does
anyone have any idea of what could be the problem.
Thanks,
Terry B.
