Outlook "Trying to Connect" messages

I hope someone can help me. I have users in the field that try to connect
outlook 2003 to an exchange server 2003. They can vpn in (Nortel VPN)
without any issues. When they start outlook they keep getting a message in
the lower right hand corner saying trying to connect and just sits there.

this happens at different hotel within the US. If they take the machine
home it works fine. Is there some I can set on exchange or outlook to stop
this issue or is there something that hotels need to change. Does anyone know
what the cause is?

Have you considered OWA or RPC over HTTP

I do use OWA but user would like to outlook client. As far as rpc over http,
that is something that I am working on. I have a lot of user in the field
that have this situation and need to find a solution.
