outlook trying to send non-existent message

Hi

All day Outlook has been trying to send a message that doesn't exist! The
Drafts and Outbox folders are empty.
I've run a virus check - checked the drive (chkdsk?) - Detect and repair -
nothing has resolved the problem.

The fact that my ISP keeps rejecting the password as well makes it doubly
annoying as the Enter Network Password keeps popping up every few minutes!

Any suggestions gratefully received - thanks in anticipation

Thanks for the suggestions - I gave them a go but the Outbox is empty "There
are no items to show in this view".

Still open to ideas!

Possibly an undeliverable read receipt, which won't show in the Outbox. See
