outlook unread/read status

Hi , I am trying to figure out how to keep my messages as unread until I
reply to them or manually mark them as read. Yes, I can leave them in the
reading pane and not mark as unread until I open them up.. but sometimes I
need to read now, respond later. Adding them to the to do list is hard as
the list gets big in a day. But that might be the route I need to take.

Any info would be great

Once they are read they are shown as read, either add to tasks, or add to
followup

After you've read a message, you can reset it to "unread" by right clicking
the message in the Message View and then selecting "Mark as Unread". At the
same time you can also click on Follow Up and either select a flag or set a
time for follow up.

There are other methods for managing emails and Tasks described in several
books and/or websites. Most of these books espouse some approach to time
management while giving some excellent insight into how OL can help you
manage not only your email, but your work as well. A popular book is "Taking
