Outlook using all CPU

I am using the Office Outlook 2003 and have been for a couple of years. 2
weeks ago, it started just locking up and not doing anything after several
automatic updates came in. I have tried everything I could think of including
removing the automatic updates that had came in and even did the detect and
repair tool. Yesterday I waited on it to load for so long and finally hit
Ctrl,Alt and Delete. When I checked the processes, it was saying it was using
an awful lot of memory, so I went to performance and it was using 100% CPU. I
tried to shut it down and it won't even do that. So I restarted the computer
and tried it again and it did the same thing. If I let it set for ages like
that it will finally be ok, but then the first thing I click, such as an
email to open it, it will stop performing again. Nothing has been added to my
computer or no changes at all except the automatic updates which I removed
and I also went back to the day before those updates and restored the
computer to that point, nothing has helped. Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks!

i'm no expert but have you compacted
your mailboxes?

are your inboxes overloaded with
years of emails? if so, you might want
to create folders where you can save
the ones you want out of the "inbox's"

also, sometimes the time of the pc
is not in sync with the mail server and
causes issues with handshaking.

however, these are just a couple
of suggestions and the xperts above
will be better to answer.

Thanks, and it was compacting regularly. But no I don't have a lot of emails
in the inbox. I did copy and paste it into the link you suggested though. I'm
really thinking it has something to do with the updates on May 9th, cause
this all started the day after those updates. Thanks again!
