Outlook Version 2000 -SP3 unable to get Contacts from another computer

I have two computers both with XP Pro, and MS Office 2000.
One computer has NO contacts in the contacts file the
other one has all my current contacts. How can I bring one
in from the other. I have tried import/export, but just
can't get it to work. Both computers are on a network if
that helps. The file is to large to export to a floppy
disk. Also is there a way I can keep them both up
todate. I need to occasionally update one from the other
as records to change. I try to keep the main computer
upto date and would just like to be able to import the
updated records only (about once a month) Is this possible?

Will these installations ever need to access your Outlook data at the same
time?

Yes it is very likley, If its a problem I can try to do
what I have done for the last few years. i.e have a copy
of my contacts on each computer. The old problem with that
is keeping them all uptodate. I just don't seem able to
copy my contacts from one computer to the other. One is
blank due to fitting a new hard drive. I did somehow
manage to copy the "Calendar" but not the "Contacts"
