outlook via a vpn errors

I ve recently purchased a wireless router modem .
I can connect to the internet ok but when i try to get my email from work by
connecting to the works VPN my mail refuses to download.

Can you help me?

This is the message I m getting whist trying to download my email in Outlook
Express -

'Your 'Inbox' folder was not polled for its unread count. Account:
'mailhost', Server: 'mailhost', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: '', Port:
143, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC14'

Do you think this could be something to do with adding PORT settings into my
Wireless Router. If so what do I ? Do I add this number Port 143 ?

Hi pete
This error usually means that a glitch has appeared in your network
protocols which is making it impossible for Outlook Express to transmit data
over the network. A common fix is to re-install TCP/IP. Sometimes just
re-booting will get things running again.
