Outlook vs. Vista's Mail

With the imminent purchase of a new computer, we'll be switching from XP to
Vista. Thanks to a complex set of rules, Outlook is doing some minor
miracles for us.

Questions: Should we switch to Vista's mail program or stick with Outlook?
Are they functionally the same? Vista's search will find items in its mail
program; will it do the same for Outlook?

What version of Outlook? If you have outlook 2007, you'll have instant
search. If you have outlook 2002 or older, use Mail - they are not supported
on vista.

Internet Mail & News was renamed to Outlook Express.
Outlook Express was replaced in Vista with Windows Mail.
Windows Mail was replaced with Windows Live Mail.

Since OE did not meet your needs, neither with Windows Mail. Why would
you expect different an unrelated e-mail clients to be functionally the
same?

If you want to see what Windows Mail is like, you could experiment with
Windows Live Mail (since you might end up using that to replace Windows
Mail).
