Since I hav started using the lates Microsoft Messenger, whenever I try to
minimize Outlook 2003, it closes rather than minimize down to the task bar. I
click the box with the dash in it, as usual.

What does Outlook show in the Tools-->Options-->Other where the Person names
feature is?
Do you use that functionality? Deselect this if you do not.

Are you sure it doesn't minimize to the Notification Area? Look and see if
you see an Outlook icon there. You might need to expand the Notification
Area to see it. Rightclick the icon and deselect "Hide when minimized".

What is the notification area? I did not change anything before this started
happening, except download MSN Messenger 7.5.

I found the Notification Area. Never knew what that was called. It must have
been clicked inadvertently. I suspect my husband!!! Thanks. It was set to
hide when minimized. I have changed it so it is the way it used to be. Thank
you very much.

Probably not. See the Outlook icon in the system tray? Right-click and
uncheck Hide When Minimized.

Thanks, I have it fixed. I think my husband got into my computer and decided
to improve it, he does that at times. Hide When Minimized was not clicked
before. I never right clicked that outlook icon before, only to the left to
get it started.

Thanks to all for the input!!! You were fabulous!
