Outlook will not send emails

I have recently installed Office 2003 onto my laptop and have a problem
sending emails. It seems to receive OK but I get this error message

"relaying prohibited. You should authenticate first"

Any ideas????

Your outgoing serve might require authentication. Check with your service
provider.
