Outlook with BCM

I want to make sure that I get everything backed up properly when I do a back
up. When I have linked emails to a BCM Account, do these get backed up when I
back up the database using the BCM -- Database Tools -- Manage Database --
Back up. If not, how do I back them up?

I found this on another BCM team site:
"When BCM links an email to contact, it takes some data from email body and
stores them to BCM store as a history. When user opens this history item, BCM
will first find if the original email is accessible. If it is, BCM will open
the original email. If it is not, BCM will display a form with the partial
data it extracted from email and stored in it's database. This partial data
doesn't include attachments, images etc."

so really the only question i have is - does all this history data back up
to the back up file created when you use the backup utility?

Backing-up the BCM database only backs up the data that's unique to
BCM. If a BCM contact is linked to an email item in Outlook, the BCM
db has the link, but not the email. Outlook stores its data in a file
with a name like Outlook.pst. You should make a copy of this file and
store with the BCM db backup file.

If BCM history contains a link to documents/files on your harddisk,
you'll also need to make a copy of those.

Thanks Luther - here is my dilemma. We keep records in BCM and actually
delete the emails in outlook (so no .pst to back up). BCM history keeps a
copy of the email... it is not really clear to me where the history is stored
and how I can be sure to back them up properly - notes, emails, etc. Backing
up seems to be an art in itself (not a fun art) - and I cannot find anywhere
how these items are stored to ensure I back them up properly. If you have
more insight, I would appreciate it. There is no clear indication of where
data is stored within the program (ie. notes, email copies, etc.) and it may
be that using the back up utility with BCM does it all - I just can't find
anything or anyone who can tell me for sure; including all the Microsoft
publications I have seen. Thanks.
