Outlook with common email add

Hi all,

I have a request from user, need to create a common email for use in
a dept and share among few users.

Client is outlook 2003 + Exchange svr 2003 std

They are 5 users in sales dept and I need a create an email call
(e-mail address removed) for all 5 users. Is that possible?

2nd requirement, each of these user must be able to maintain per-user
read/unread status information. Is that possible?

Appreciate if anyone can give me some input.

Thanks in avd.

I had a very similar request for one of my clients. The main question you will have is where the emails are delivered. One option is to create a mailbox and it as an additional mailbox on each profile. Though each person would not be able to see if they have read or not read the email. However, you could utilize categories or labels. Each person would just mark it with there lable if they they read it. I believe you can show multiple lable colors. This is obviously a work around to be able to know if some read the email. I would use the single mailbox concept if you need to manager/track wheather an email has been addressed or not.

Another option is to have the email setup and all incoming emails are forwarded to each person separte mailbox. This does not allow for central managment or organization of the email but each person would receive a copy and be able to mark it as read or unread as they need.

I used the second option along with using software from Exclaimer. www.exclaimer.com.

Hope this helps
