Thorgils
A few days ago I attached this message to an existing thread on the same
topic, but since I've received no response I'll try to restart this
discussion.
Intermittently, Outlook 2003 on my WinXP laptop won't connect to the
incoming server (which is correctly identified in the account setup details).
I can see the incoming email via webmail, but Outlook will not connect to
the server. While the problem has gone away "by itself" in the past, I've
now had it consistently for a couple of weeks.
I infer this is an Outlook problem because (i) it also used to occur from
time to time with my previous ISP, and (ii) I have no problems with my other
computer (WinVista) on the same WiFi network, with the same client firewall
and firewall settings, but using Mozilla Thunderbird as the email client.
I've tried deleting the .srs file for my profile (as prescribed for a
previous person with the same problem), but this didn't lead to a solution
for me. Can anyone advise me further, please?
