outlook won't load

When I try to load my outlook it starts and then sort of freezes. I have the
little hourglass that says it is working but nothing happens. I can only
close it by using the task manager, which tells me it is waiting for a
response from me and I have to "end task". If I retry outlook I get prompted
to start in safe mode, shich does the same thing.
