Outlook won't open a folder to select attachment

In Outlook email, I can attach a file that is not in a folder but Outlook
will not open a folder so that I can attach a file that is in htat folder. I
get 'Not Responding' and then use 'End Now' to do anything.
I recently had an error in Word that prompted an OFFICE Update. Since then
I have had this problem.

I have the very same problem, all happened right after the April Office
upgrade. Does anyone know how to fix this?
