outlook wont open

using xp pro with outlook 2000
when we try to open outlook we get a message to the effect appver 9.0.06604
mod name mcmapi.dll
modver 7.0.1.3
offset 0000369f

we have tried the office fix and repair tool
we have uninstalled the office and reinstalled
we have the latest updates

anybody any ideas
