Outlook won't open!

Prior to rebuiling my computer, Outlook was working. Have now unistalled &
installed Office XP Pro several times and while all the other programs
(Word, Excel, etc) function normally, Outlook refuses to open.

Dialog box pops up and says: "Unable to open your default email folders.
Could not open the item. Try again." Then I get another message: "Would you
like to open your default system folder instead?"

Have installed SP3 and all relevant updates. Frustrated!

Fix your mail profile using the Mail applet in Control Panel.

Setup new mailbox as you instructed - account settings tested Ok and even
received the test email in Outlook Express BUT Outlook will still not open.

I never said to set up a new mailbox, I said "new mail profile". Describe
the EXACT steps you took.
