outlook won't open.

When I tried to open outlook it said it hadn't been shut properly and then
ran a check. After the check it just shut down and refuses to open. Have
restarted laptop twice to no avail. when I try to open outlook the message
says 'cannot open outlook. cannot open the outlook window.'
